Word of advice for everyone... STAY AWAY FROM STANDBY TICKETS!!!!! Here is some more advice stay away from United Airlines!!!!!
This past Friday I spent the whole at JFK airport hopelessly waiting to get on a plane to San Francisco... from 5am to 8pm!!!!! United Airlines stinks, there customer service is horrible. Every time I would go ask a question I would get looked at like I did not even belong there!!!!
It was one of the most frustrating times in my life... and a huge waste of time and money.

iPhone 4 Firmware Restore Woes...
It has been ages since I have posted something on this blog but after the issues I had been running into trying to update my iPhone 4 to the latest firmware, I have felt compelled to say something.
I find it ironic that as a Computer Technician who loves Apple products I tend to say to many of my clients that Apple products function great when they are used the way Apple intends you to use them. As soon as you leave Apple's wall garden and start to think outside the box, things break.
Funny, I have not been taking my on advice...
I was in the process of upgrading my iPhone 4 to iOS firmware 4.0.1 when the during the restore process iTunes would freeze! I could not for the life figure out what was wrong. Then I started to get really worried when a friend of mine who was trying to do the same thing ran into the same issue!!
After hours and hours of view log files, process monitoring, and computer and device restarts we finally found the problem. Our initial instinct was to think that something was wrong with our iTunes install or the firmware on our iPhone 4s, but we did not realize we had a program called WiFi Sync installed on our Macs. This program enables you wirelessly sync your iDevices to iTunes (something that should be an option already in my opinion but that's another story...). After we un-installed WiFi Sync the firmware restored without hiccups!!!
Moral of the story is Apple products work terrifically when you use them the way Apple wants you to use them, as soon as you try and add any extra customization or add unsupported features to anything things WILL break!!!
From now on I think I'll be a little more careful with selection of crazy apps I install...
